Field to dock
in 48 hours
Most vase life is lost before a flower ever leaves the country of origin. Here is exactly what happens to your stems between the field and your cold store.
The cold chain
Seven steps, one unbroken
temperature line
Day 0, 06:00
Cut
Stems cut in the cool of the morning, straight into clean water with a hydration treatment.
Day 0, 09:00
Graded and bunched
Length and bunch weight checked against your written spec. Anything off spec goes out, not in.
Day 0, 10:00
Pre-cooled
Into the cold room at 2 to 4 C within an hour of cutting. This is where vase life is won.
Day 0, 16:00
Packed
Sealed into pre-chilled boxes with your labels. Photo of the pallet on request before it moves.
Day 0, 23:00
Airside at JKIA
Handed to the airline in a temperature-controlled build-up area, on the night freighter.
Day 1, 06:00
Lands in Europe
Amsterdam or Liege. Cleared and moved into a cold store the same morning.
Day 1–2
On your dock
Trucked to you refrigerated, with the temperature log from the whole journey.

Freight
Boxes, minimums and terms
Box sizes
Full box, half box and quarter box. A full box is the standard flower carton for air freight and holds roughly 10 to 12 kg of product depending on the line.
Minimum order
A half box for a first trial, a full box for a standing programme. Boxes can be mixed, so you can trial three lines in one shipment without three minimums.
Order deadline
Confirmed by Monday flies the same week. For a weekly standing order we work two weeks ahead so the crop is planned, not scavenged.
Airports
Amsterdam Schiphol and Liege as standard, then trucked onward across Europe. Other airports on request where the volume supports a direct build.
Incoterms
FOB Nairobi or CIF destination airport. Delivered options through our forwarder on request. The terms go on every order confirmation, in writing.
Claims
Photos within 24 hours of arrival and we credit or replace on the next flight. No argument about who was holding it when.
